Monobox powered speaker

I'm working on 2 mono-box speakers for a auction, The first one you see in the pics is missing the grill (work in progress). The idea came from make magazine weekend project page: http://makezine.com/projects/make-34/monobox-powered-speaker-2/. The sound of the speaker is not bad, in my opinion it would stand up to the 35$ speakers at Fry's. I used the lm386 amp (IC) for amplification, in the pictures I'm running it off a 9 volt battery but the max voltage is up to 15V dc and 200mA. For the input I'm using regular aux cable.
This project provides a great base to build off, There are tons of things you could add: solar powered, rechargeable battery, Bluetooth capabilities, skip and volume control, more channels, The possibilities are endless! I really like the idea of this project and I'm hoping to add on to it.

This is not the end of this project I have plans to build another one that is made out of a black cigar box and has a Bluetooth reviver.

Keep you posted, -Jack
