slayer Exciter

The build: https://youtu.be/wCKQX6H1vj0 I'm currently enrolled in Physics 2426 and I am fascinated with the material. We recently covered some material on magnetic fields and transformers, so why not take the time to build a tesla coil? But I've got a bit of an issue, I don't have the materials, or any money. I do have two MOTs I could wire in series and maybe get 33Kv - That would be sick - but I don't have much time, and the whole project would be pretty sketch. So I found an alternative: The slayer exciter, I don't need a particularly high power supply to get a little bit of plasma and light up some fluorescent bulbs, and I have everything I need to throw one together real quick. I did a couple of calculations before I started building; However, due to the time constraints I didn't get much down before I started. I knew the the longest piece of 1-1/4 PVC I had was about 27mm and based on the diameter of the wire (0.27 mm), I could get ...

SWARM Cubes Idea

Image
The cubes would utilize small magnets to connect together, the movement of the cube would be caused by the sudden stopping accelerating of the small brush-less motors. Some sort of positioning sensor would be used to track the cubes position. The cube would be controlled by an Arduino and three electronic speed controllers. If the movement of the cube is precise enough the cube would theoretically be able to balance on one end, much like a gyroscope or spinning top.

The Results of Boredom

Have you ever felt it would be handy to have you blinds open and close by themselves? Well I did! so I had them do just that. I used a photoresitor and switch to sense the lights levels outside, and the position of the blinds. A small 12v toy motor and gear box provides the opening action. Everything is controlled with an Arduino.

I had a situation, I was invited to a private Air-soft war/campout. But I had no gun. Solution? Build one! I worked out a prototype using a Cola bottle and CO2. This is what I came out with:

Bluetooth speaker

This is the Bluetooth speaker I built. It's not the finished product, but it's getting there. I tore the speaker cone on one of the drivers so i need to get another one, I built the box out of cigar box wood and the rims around the speaker are mason jar lids cut to size
